From content creating to attending events and the Liberty Stadium, discover what intern Katie has been up to in her latest blog post here!

My first week as a Marketing Intern got off to a flying start. With the launch of The Social Butterfly’s partner companies Bee Creative and Web Design being underway, there was a lot to be done.

My first task was creating social media content for Bee Creative. This involved learning the fine art of Photoshop, which to begin with consumed a large amount of my time. For those of you who haven’t had the pleasure of working with Photoshop, I envy you. Once I got my head around it, I was able to create multiple images for Bee Creative; I really enjoyed this as branding and design are two of my main interests in marketing. After the images had been created, I moved onto researching and writing content and then scheduled each one onto our social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn.

My second week coincided International Womens Day. This led to both an inspiring but also challenging day. Amy invited me along to two events, the first was held by Barclays at the Liberty Stadium. This was extremely inspiring as we listened to 3 women who all had very different backgrounds and struggles but are now very successful in business through hard work and determination.

In the evening I attended a dinner at the Marriot hotel run by technocamps. I was nervous entering this dinner as it was a prestigious event with many important and inspiring individuals attending. I was encouraged to network and by the end of the evening I felt much more confident speaking to people and engaging with them. I left the event with two business cards of women that I intent to contact regarding future endeavours.

The support and trust I have received so far from the Social Butterfly team has been very encouraging and motivating. I have already gained many skills and been exposed to new and exciting opportunities and I’m only two weeks in!

Tune in in two weeks time to find out more about what I’ve been up to!
